PSYCHE AND SWIMMING

AUTOGENOUS TRAINING

            Initiated as a psycho-prophylactic method by the German physician psychiatrist J.H.Schultz, the method was generalized for the preparation of the normal, healthy human, aiming to maximize his physical and mental (sports, aviation, cosmonaut, etc..) abilities.

            Schultz considered that by autosuggestion in optimal state of psycho-somatic relaxation the functional moods can be auto-regulated.

             The method is represented by 6 cycles of exercises carried out in strict sequence in which the potential biological efficiently shows up, recording optimum, maximum values (through neuro-muscular, vascular relaxation, vegetative functions mechanism, etc.)..

            This form of training can be realized only under the supervision of a specialist psychologist.

            Associated with the psychotone training, autogenous training contributes also to the recovery after the effort.
