PHYSICAL EDUCATION AND SWIMMING

            By belonging to the concept of multilateral and thorough education of youth, physical education solve ideally, by methods and adequate age and individual particularities, harmonious development of body, strengthening health, training and nurturing the basic driving skills (body position - posture, walking, running , throwing, climbing, etc.), development of basic motor skills - top / speed, skill, resistance, force) in the form of knowledge, skills, abilities that facilitates the individual to close habits of life and work opposite a sedentary life and climate of the ecological environment suitable for life.

            Between physical education and swimming there are many common points, so many that some tend to subside the role of swimming Sports.

            This can not be accepted (!): The unilateral practice of swimming can lead the body, yet un-formed, to forms of over-adaptation to the changed environment (water) leaving behind a series of necessary life skills for the ordinary terrestrial life (compensated joint flexibility with poor attitudes of posture, decreased muscle tone, etc.).

            When swimming practice is conceived and conducted as a secondary, complementary mean of physical education, the objectives of each activity can be optimally resolved.
